What is a Jog-a-Thon?

A Jog-A-Thon is a no-pressure, no-sales fundraising event that is fun for students and a great opportunity for sponsors to support your school. Between 2007 and 2010, schools averaged between $105 and $310 per participant. The average donation was over $24.

Jim Hurley, founder of Jog-A-Thon

Jog-A-Thon was developed by Dr. Jim Hurley, a school board member who was tired of expensive, high-pressure fundraisers. You keep 70-80% of every dollar raised.

The Jog-A-Thon is designed to leave schools total freedom to obtain their own supplies, determine their own prizes and to place control where it belongs: in the hands of the school.

"I looked forward to the Jog every year when I was in grade school. My Dad still smiles every time he looks at the pictures of me with the driver and the stretched limousine. I am recommending it to schools here in Charlotte."
